Dr. Bukovszky Botond, PhD, is a dentist and oral surgeon, and the Medical Director of our clinic. At Semmelweis University he carries out patient care, teaching and research alike.
He considers continuous domestic and international training particularly important for his professional development, and as part of this, among other things, he has completed one of Harvard Medical School’s training programs.
Alongside his dental and scientific work, as clinical leader he pays particular attention to the legal and regulatory environment of healthcare as well, which forms an important part of his leadership approach. He is convinced that running a modern dental clinic means much more than providing high-quality dental treatment: behind the scenes, an entire professional team must make sure that patient care takes place in a professionally, organizationally and legally appropriate, safe and transparent framework, for the benefit of patients and of the professionals providing their care alike.
In his professional outlook, dental care cannot be separated from the patient’s general state of health. He considers it important to take comorbidities and individual circumstances into account, as well as interdisciplinary thinking. Accordingly, at Trendo Dental too, cooperation between the different dental specialties plays a prominent role, and where necessary, so does consultation with medical specialties outside dentistry.
He considers it particularly important that clinical decisions and the clinic’s professional protocols be based on the prevailing scientific evidence and up-to-date professional guidelines. As clinical leader, his goal is that at Trendo Dental it should not only be the individual treatments that are of a high standard, but the care system as a whole, from professional protocols and teamwork, through patient safety and documentation, all the way to continuous professional development.
